Through my work with The Center for Cultural Power, I currently serve as Content Producer for Climate Woke. This project centers the intersection of Black Liberation and Indigenous Sovereignty in the fight for global climate justice. Through creative activism and cultural strategy, Climate Woke uplifts the resilience, wisdom, and leadership of Black, Indigenous, and communities of color who are on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

Climate Woke

Role: Content Producer

The Work

Through my work with the Climate Woke and Cultural Power Research & Impact Team, I have been able shape the visual language, narrative, and digital presence of multiple projects through:

My work reflects a deep understanding of how climate justice intersects with environmental racism, food insecurity, systemic neglect, and other lived realities of BIPOC communities.

My work on Climate Woke productions span short films, digital illustrations, immersive activations, and special projects.

Highlights include:

  • Founding producer/sponsor of the Hollywood Climate Summit

  • Create With Us, a grant and fellowship program supporting BIPOC filmmakers

  • Culture Con 2024, NYC — “Autonomy is My Joy,” an immersive installation and video series produced in collaboration with Inspire Justice, featuring multigenerational BIPOC storytellers tackling issues from reproductive justice to environmental equity

Impact

While Climate Woke is less metrics-driven, its cultural presence has been significant. The campaign has activated audiences at events such as Sundance Film Festival, Hollywood Climate Summit, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Culture Con NYC, and COP27 in Egypt, nurturing relationships with Black and Indigenous-led environmental justice organizations and seeding new narratives around climate resiliency.
